CLS consent policy

How we ask, how anyone stops a scene, and what dungeon monitors do.

4 min readVersion 2, Sep 18, 2026

Everyone at a CLS event agrees to this policy. It is short on purpose.

Ask first, every time

Consent is asked for and given out loud, before a scene starts. A previous yes doesn't carry over to tonight.

Yes can change

Anyone can stop a scene at any time, for any reason. "Red" stops everything. "Yellow" means slow down and check in. If someone can't speak, agree on a gesture before you start: dropping a held object is our house default.

Dungeon monitors

DMs wear a brass armband. If a DM asks a scene to pause, it pauses. Talk it through afterwards, not during.

If something goes wrong

Tell a DM or any board member that night, or report it to the safety team later. You can report anonymously.

Check your understanding

You passed on Sep 20, 2026. You can take it again any time.

Done
1. A partner said yes to impact play at last month's party. Tonight you want to do the same scene.
2. Someone in a gag can't say "red". What's the house default for stopping?
3. A DM asks your scene to pause, and you think they've misread it. What do you do?
