Judging, tabulating and the reveal
Scoring offline, reopening a score, certifying, sealing, and the reveal on stage.
A title contest only works if everyone trusts the result. Colors keeps each judge's scores private, records every change, and seals the result before anyone announces it. Open the contest from Title contest.
Judges
Your scoresheet has a tab for each category. Score each contestant from 0 to the category's maximum, in half points. You only score; the tabulator's sheet applies each category's weight, so don't adjust for it yourself.
You see your own scores and no one else's.
No signal? Keep scoring. Your scores are saved on your phone as you go, and the sheet shows where each one is: "Saved on this phone", "Waiting for signal", "Sending", "Sent".
When you're done, choose Submit, then Lock and submit. Submitted scores are locked. If the tabulator reopens one, it shows on your sheet with their reason. Change it and submit again.
Tabulators
Your view shows each judge's progress, live standings, and Outliers: any score more than two points from the rest of the panel. An outlier isn't wrong, but it's worth a quiet word.
- Drop each cell's high and low score has to be decided before the first score comes in. It only applies where three or more judges scored.
- Places announced on stage: winner only, or a top number. Decide this before you certify.
- Reopen this score sends one score back to its judge, with your reason. The judge sees the reason, and so does the audit log. You can only reopen before certifying.
- Certify results once every judge has submitted every score.
- Withdraw certification if something's wrong, with a reason. You can't after sealing.
- Seal results fixes the result with a fingerprint, and unlocks the reveal. There's no unsealing.
Ties are broken by the most heavily weighted category, then the next. If they're still level, the place is shared.
The emcee
When the results are sealed, open Reveal on the contest. Each tap reveals one placing, from the lowest announced place up to Reveal the winner. Read the name on the screen. Shared places say so.
There's no going back a step, so tap once and read. If the screen ever says Stop. Don't announce., the sealed result doesn't match the scores. Don't read anything out; get the tabulator.
After the reveal, members see the placings on the results page and can check the seal themselves.
