Buying tickets and checking in

Getting a ticket, the house rules, hidden venues, and getting in on the night.

Getting a ticket

Open an event from Events and choose Get a ticket. Checkout has four short steps: pick a ticket, agree to the house rules, pay, and you're done.

  • You'll tick two boxes: that you've read and will follow the club's code of conduct, and that you'll follow this event's photo policy. The time you agreed is kept with your ticket.
  • Card details go into the payment processor's own page. Colors never sees your card number.
  • Free events say Reserve my spot instead of asking you to pay.
  • One ticket per member per event. Some tickets are for members only, and some events are for members or vetted members only.

Some events need an organizer to approve tickets. Your ticket shows as pending until they do. If an organizer declines a paid ticket, the payment is refunded automatically.

What shows on your card statement

The club's neutral statement name, not the event or the club's full name. You can see exactly what it says, next to each payment, on Tickets and payments.

Hidden venues

For many events the address is kept back until shortly before the start. Until then you'll see only the area. Once it's released, approved ticket holders can see it on the event page, and you'll get an email saying it's ready. The email doesn't contain the address. Opening the address is noted in the club's audit log.

Pending tickets don't see the address until they're approved.

Getting in

Your ticket's QR code is on the event page under Your ticket. Treat it like a key: anyone holding the code can use your ticket once. Show it at the door and a volunteer scans it.

If the organizers have turned on location check-in, you can also check in from Check in when you arrive. It opens an hour before the start. Your phone works out whether you're close enough to the venue and sends only "I'm inside". Your location never leaves your phone, and Colors stores no coordinates. If it doesn't work, the door team scans your QR code instead.

Refunds

Refunds are made by the treasurer, in full, back to the way you paid. If you need one, ask the event organizer or the treasurer. Refunds show on Tickets and payments.
